Here is a quick rundown of what will and won’t be included in the newsletter (free and paid) and how we approach looking at trends.
We will be using Google, YouTube, Amazon, Reddit and other big site data.
We will be looking at sudden surges in traffic on growing sites and app ranking movements.
We will look at seed, early VC and series A investments from public data.
We will be mainly covering trends in the US and the UK at first where most of our first subscribers are likely to be.
We will mainly be focusing on B2C trends, not B2B for the time being.
We will be active most days for our paid tiers, in a style similar to Twitter, but with more in-depth commentary and analysis.
We will mainly focus on things that have organic traction i.e. are not mainly ad-driven, but will provide some examples of the latter too.
We will be looking at both viral trends and those with longer run-up curves.
We will continuously get your feedback and poll on what sources or sites you would want to look at. If enough people agree we will add it to coverage.
We will not speak in an overly formal tone, it’s not our style.
We will cover some NSFW trends/themes, e.g. we spotted OnlyFans early in 2019. So please be prepared for this. There won’t be any explicit images or videos shared in the newsletter though.
‘Skin in the game’ - In our £49 tier, if we spot a trend that could be played out as a trade in public markets, we will disclose if we have taken a position on a stock or not. Like we did with oil tankers in April 2020.
The trends will not be in any specific area across B2C (e.g. skin care), for this you would need to engage us on our Enterprise package where we can discuss custom reports and needs.
